In a quaint corner of Grizzlewick, a goblin tailor named Snipgut Threadshank was renowned for his extraordinary talent. His fingers were as deft as they were green, and his creations were sought after by all—from the lowliest goblin to the highest human lord. But Snipgut’s greatest creation was not for sale. It was a cloak woven for his beloved daughter, Pipwicket.
Pipwicket was as adventurous as her father was meticulous. She had a knack for finding trouble—or perhaps it was trouble that found her. Snipgut knew he couldn’t cage his daughter’s wild heart, nor would he want to. So, he decided to craft a cloak that would keep her safe on her escapades. The Shadowcloak was a marvel. By day, it was as unassuming as any other garment in Snipgut’s shop. But by night, it shimmered with a life of its own, blending Pipwicket into the darkness, making her as elusive as a whisper.
Snipgut was oblivious to the double life his daughter led. By day, she was the mischievous goblin girl who helped her father in the shop, her laughter as bright as the sunbeams that filtered through the willow leaves. But by night, she was something else entirely—a master burglar known only as “The Wisp.”
The Shadowcloak was her ally in this clandestine endeavor. It allowed her to move unseen, to slip past locks and guards as if she were a mere shadow. She was a phantom in the night, her presence felt but never confirmed. The wealthy and the corrupt whispered of a ghostly figure that relieved them of their ill-gotten gains, yet none could catch the elusive Wisp.
On one fateful night, Pipwicket found herself cornered. The city guard had finally anticipated her move, and there she was, trapped in the lavish chamber of a notorious crime lord. With nowhere to run, Pipwicket did the only thing she could—she wrapped the Shadowcloak tighter around her and willed herself to be elsewhere. In the blink of an eye, she was gone.
Pipwicket continued her nocturnal escapades, always one step ahead, always one whisper away from discovery, her father’s love woven into every thread, protecting her from the perils of the night.
