Actions

Multiattack: Vexar makes two Sinister Strike attacks.

Sinister Strike: Ranged Spell Attack: +9 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: force damage. Each time Vexar successfully hits a target with Sinister Strike, the damage increases by an additional (e.g., , , , etc.). This damage increase is permanent for the duration of the encounter.

Abyssal Cage: Vexar can create a magical cage of dark energy in a 10-foot radius centered on a point he can see within 60 feet. Creatures within the area must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn. This ability recharges after a short or long rest.

Dark Surge (Recharge 5-6): Vexar can unleash a devastating burst of dark energy. As an action, he can target one creature within 60 feet. The target must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. Creatures with less than half their maximum hit points take an additional necrotic damage.

Legendary Actions

Vexar can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Vexar regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Sinister Strike: Vexar makes one Sinister Strike attack.

Teleport: Vexar magically teleports, along with any equipment he is wearing or carrying, up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space he can see.

Dark Surge (Costs 2 actions): Vexar uses his Dark Surge ability, if available.

Vexar is a small but incredibly ambitious mage who is determined to prove his mastery of dark magic. Despite his diminutive stature, he harbors grandiose dreams of becoming the most feared and powerful sorcerer in the multiverse. His obsession with evil is almost comical, as he often goes out of his way to perform acts of villainy, no matter how trivial, just to bolster his reputation.
However, Vexar is extremely sensitive about his height. Any mention of his small size can send him into a furious rage, causing him to lash out with his formidable magical abilities. He compensates for his lack of physical stature with an overwhelming presence of dark energy and a sharp, cunning intellect. Vexar's need to be taken seriously often leads him to overcompensate, making his actions and declarations of evilness even more dramatic and exaggerated.
