Chains of Asmodeus

Forged in the deepest pits of Nessus, the Chains of Asmodeus were once wielded by Asmodeus’ chosen enforcers, used to break the wills of betrayers and drag the damned into servitude. It is a long and wicked whip made of interwoven black iron chains. The links are etched with glowing infernal runes that pulse with a deep crimson light. At the tip of the whip, the chains split into several jagged barbs. When wielded, the whip moves like a living thing, writhing and twisting as if eager to strike. A faint haze of black smoke rises from the metal, carrying the scent of burning flesh.
Infernal Tongue
While attuned to the Chains of Asmodeus, you gain the ability to speak, read, and write InfernalHellforged Whip
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic whip. It deals slashing damage plus fire damage instead of the normal damage for a whip.Infernal Shackles
The first time you hit a creature with an attack on your turn, spectral chains wrap around it. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be grappled until the start of your next turn.Soulbinder
If you reduce a humanoid creature to 0 hit points with this weapon, it dies and its soul is dragged into the Nine Hells unless it is restored to life within 1 minute. While its soul remains in the Nine Hells, the creature cannot be resurrected by any means short of a spell or divine intervention.Random Properties
The Chains of Asmodeus has the following random properties in it's dormant state.- 1 minor beneficial property
- 1 minor detrimental property
Curse
The Chains of Asmodeus are an instrument of absolute tyranny, and they do not tolerate weakness.- Infernal Oath. If you willingly end your attunement to the Chains, you suffer psychic damage, and your next long rest offers no benefits as infernal nightmares torment you.
- Lord’s Demand. The Chains of Asmodeus whisper in your mind, urging you toward domination and cruelty. When you attack a creature and leave it alive while it is incapacitated, paralyzed, restrained, grappled or unconscious, you feel an overwhelming compulsion to strike again. If you choose not to, the Chains lash out in fury, searing your flesh for fire damage.
- Soul Forfeit. If you ever die while attuned to the Chains, your soul is claimed by Asmodeus and sendt to the nine hells.

The first time you hit a creature with an attack on your turn, spectral chains wrap around it. The target must succeed on a DC 19 Strength saving throw or be restrained for 1 minute. A restrained creature can make another saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.Hell's Claim
When you reduce a humanoid creature to 0 hit points with the Chains, you can choose to utterly destroy its soul, preventing resurrection by any means, including a wish spell. Alternatively, you can enslave the soul, forcing it into eternal service as a specter under your control.Chains of Damnation
When you hit a creature, you can force it to make a DC 19 Charisma saving throw. On a failure, its soul is momentarily wrenched toward the Nine Hells, causing it to be frightened of you until the end of your next turn. You can use this feature three times per long rest.Servant of the Pit

As a bonus action, you can command the Chains to lash out at all creatures of your choice within 15 feet. Each target must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking fire damage and necrotic damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. You can use this feature once per long rest.Asmodeus' Favor
Your soul is bound to Asmodeus. You gain fire resistance, darkvision (120 ft.), and advantage on saving throws against spells and abilities used by celestials. However, if you die while attuned to the Chains, you cannot be resurrected by any means short of Asmodeus’ will.Devil's Command
While you wield the Chains of Asmodeus, devils of Challenge Rating 18 or lower will not attack you unless explicitly commanded to do so by a Pit Fiend or higher-ranking devil. Additionally, devils of Challenge Rating 5 or lower will obey your commands as though you were their superior. They will follow your orders to the best of their ability, though they still seek to preserve their own lives. If a devil serves you for a long period of time, it may grow resentful, seeking to overthrow your will if it ever sees an opportunity.Random Properties
