DurationConcentrationRitualComponents
Permanent (until dispelled)NoNoV, S, M*
* (a shard of obsidian)

Description

You curse a creature by severing its connection to its shadow. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the curse takes hold, causing its shadow to turn against it.
While cursed, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw every night at dusk. On a failure, their shadow detaches from them and becomes a hostile Shadow (Monster Manual, pg. 269).
The detached shadow acts on its own initiative, prioritizing attacks against the cursed creature. If the shadow is slain, it reattaches to the cursed creature as their shadow and ceases to be hostile. If the curse is not removed, this cycle repeats every night upon a failed saving throw.
The curse can only be removed by a Remove Curse (abjuration)
