Boom sheep are the invention of a mad gnome artificer named Bimble Blastgear. Bimble was obsessed with explosives and mechanical devices, and he combined his passions to create these deadly toys. He used them to prank his rivals, sabotage his enemies, and cause chaos wherever he went. He also sold them to anyone who could afford his high prices, making him a fortune and a reputation.
Bimble’s boom sheep were designed to look like friendly and harmless. He pressed the switch on their bellies to activate them or deactivate them. He also gave them a simple intelligence that allowed them to follow a target or wander around until they found one. He filled them with gunpowder and other combustible materials that would explode when the sheep reached their destination or were damaged enough.Bimble’s boom sheep became infamous across the land, and many adventurers, villains, and curious folk sought to acquire them for their own purposes. Some used them as weapons, others as distractions, and some as jokes. Bimble enjoyed the fame and the chaos his creations caused, and he never stopped making more of them. He even experimented with different types of boom sheep, such as ones that could fly, swim, or burrow.
Bimble’s fate is unknown, but some say he died in one of his own explosions, while others say he is still alive and hiding somewhere with his boom sheep. His workshop was raided by various factions who wanted to claim his secrets and his inventions, but they found only empty crates and booby traps.
