This hourglass contains the sands of time, a gift from the god of time. You can use an action to turn the hourglass over and activate its magic. When you activate the hourglass, the sand flows from the lower bulb to the upper one, indicating that you are traveling back in time.

Time Travel

When you turn the hourglass over, you and up to six willing creatures within 10 feet of you are transported to a different point in the past. You can choose how far back you want to travel, within the limits of the version of the hourglass. With this Bronze Hourglass you can travel back in time 1 to 5 days.
You appear in the same location you left, or the nearest unoccupied space if that location is occupied. You can bring along objects as long as their weight doesn't exceed what you can carry.

Recharge

Once you use the hourglass, it can't be used again until twice the amount of time you traveled back has passed. For example, if you travel back 2 days, it can't be used for 4 days; if you travel back 75 years, it needs 150 years to recharge.

Mishap

Time travel is a delicate dance with the fabric of reality, and even the most skilled practitioners of time manipulation are susceptible to mishaps.
When using this hourglass, a d100 roll is conducted to assess the integrity of the temporal rift. On a roll of 1-20 a mishap has occurred and you and those traveling with you must roll on the mishap table below.

Lore

The Hourglass of Time is a wondrous item that has been around for centuries. It is said to have been created by a powerful wizard who was fascinated by the mysteries of time. The wizard spent years studying the ancient lore of the god of time, Chronos, and sought to unlock the secrets of his domain. He learned that Chronos had gifted some of his faithful followers with the sands of time, a rare and precious substance that could manipulate the flow of time. The wizard managed to acquire a small amount of the sands of time from a hidden temple, and used his arcane skills to craft an hourglass that could harness their power.
The wizard hoped to use the Hourglass of Time to travel back in time and witness the creation of the world, or perhaps alter the course of history to his liking. However, he soon discovered that the hourglass had a serious limitation: it could only travel back in time for a limited period, and required a long recharge time before it could be used again. The further back he traveled, the longer he had to wait. The wizard realized that he had only created a single version of the hourglass, and that there must be more powerful versions that could travel further back in time. He became obsessed with finding the other versions of the hourglass, and spent the rest of his life searching for them.
