This metal gauntlet has a large ruby embedded at the top. It was once used by a powerful archmage who sought to harness the power of fire and death.

Clasp of Death

The gauntlet has 2 charges and regains all expended charges daily at dawn.
You can use a bonus action to expend one of the gauntlet's charges and target one creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, taking necrotic damage and fire damage on a failed save. Additionally, the target is vulnerable to necrotic and fire damage until the end of your next turn.

Lore

In the shadowy realms of the arcane, where ambition fuels the relentless pursuit of power, there existed a spellcaster of formidable prowess known as Malthor. His thirst for dominance over the elemental forces led him to forge an artifact of unparalleled might, the Hellfire’s Clasp. This gauntlet, adorned with a ruby as fiery as the depths from which it drew its power, became the cornerstone of Malthor’s legacy.
Malthor delved into ancient, forbidden texts, seeking the knowledge to bind the essence of fire and death into his creation. The ritual was perilous, demanding sacrifices that would make even the most hardened hearts quiver. Yet, Malthor’s resolve never wavered, for he knew that mastery over these primal forces would grant him the power to bend the world to his will.
The arcane conclave, a secretive council of the most powerful mages, soon learned of Malthor’s endeavors. They feared the gauntlet’s potential to disrupt the delicate balance of magic. In a clandestine meeting, they plotted to thwart Malthor’s plans, but their efforts were in vain. The Hellfire’s Clasp was already complete, and with it, Malthor’s influence began to spread like wildfire.
As Malthor’s dominion expanded, so too did tales of his ruthlessness. Villages that defied him were reduced to ash, and those who sought to challenge his authority faced the gauntlet’s wrath. Yet, amidst the destruction, Malthor remained ever vigilant, for he knew that true power lay not in conquest, but in the fear and respect it inspired.
The Hellfire’s Clasp became a symbol of Malthor’s reign, a reminder of the price of defiance. But rather than meet his end in battle or succumb to the corruption of his own creation, Malthor vanished, leaving behind only whispers of his existence. The gauntlet, now a relic of a bygone era, awaits a new master, one who can wield its power without falling prey to its seductive call.
