The Redeemer is a longsword with a straight, double-edged blade that tapers to a sharp point. The blade is made of polished steel that reflects light like a mirror. The crossguard has a round gem that changes color depending on the sword’s power level. The hilt is wrapped in red leather and a platinum thread. The sword emits a soft hum when held, and a louder one when activated.

Grace and Wrath

This is a +1 longsword that glows with a faint white light. Once per day, when you hit a creature with this weapon, you can choose to deal an extra radiant damage and heal yourself or an ally within 30 feet of you for the same amount. Alternatively, you can choose to deal no damage and heal yourself or an ally for hit points instead.

Lore

The Redeemer was forged by a legendary smith named Tharion, who was a devout follower of Wyer, the god of truth and justice. Tharion was renowned for his skill and craftsmanship, and he dedicated his life to creating weapons and armor for the champions of Wyer. He believed that his creations were imbued with the divine power of his god, and that they could help bring peace and order to the world.
One of his most prized creations was The Redeemer, a longsword that he forged with the finest materials and enchanted with powerful magic. He designed the sword to be a symbol of Wyer’s mercy and justice, and to aid those who fought for his cause. The sword could heal the wounds of the righteous and smite the wicked with radiant light. It could also reveal the truth in any situation, and offer a second chance to those who had fallen.
Tharion gave the sword to Surfal, a young paladin who had impressed him with his courage and devotion. Surfal was honored to receive such a gift, and he swore to use it wisely and faithfully. He became one of Wyer’s most loyal and effective servants, leading many crusades against evil and injustice. He wielded The Redeemer with skill and grace, and earned the respect and admiration of many.
However, Surfal’s faith was tested when he faced a powerful enemy: a necromancer named Vexor, who had amassed an army of undead and sought to conquer the land. Surfal led a group of brave warriors to stop him, but they were ambushed and outnumbered. Surfal fought valiantly, but he was overwhelmed by Vexor’s magic and minions. He watched as his friends and allies were slaughtered or turned into undead thralls.
In his darkest hour, Surfal prayed to Wyer for help, but he received no answer. He felt betrayed and abandoned by his god, and he lost all hope. He dropped The Redeemer on the ground, and surrendered to his fate. Vexor approached him with a wicked grin, ready to finish him off.
But then, something unexpected happened. Surfal felt a spark of willpower in his soul. He remembered why he became a paladin in the first place: to protect the innocent, to uphold the law, to fight for what is right. He realized that he did not need Wyer’s approval or assistance to do those things. He had the strength within himself to make a difference.
He reached for The Redeemer, and felt its warmth in his hand. He rose to his feet, and faced Vexor with renewed determination. He swung The Redeemer with all his might, unleashing its full power.
The sword struck Vexor with such force that it pierced through his defenses and wounded him grievously. A wave of radiant energy swept through the battlefield, healing Surfal’s allies and turning the tides of the battle. Surfal had won the day, thanks to his own courage.
