Dragon’s Breath Cannon

This massive cannon resembles a dragon’s head, with intricate metal scales and teeth. It can be mounted on a wheeled carriage or a ship, and requires a crew of two to four to operate. It can fire once every round, using spell slots as fuel.

Operation

As an action, one of the crew members can expend a spell slot to charge the cannon. The cannon can be charged up to three times before it's fired, and the level of the spell slot determines the damage of the cannon. As another action, another crew member can aim and fire the cannon at a point within 600 feet of them that they can see. Each creature in a 60-foot cone originating from that point must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire ignites any flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried.

Damage and Saving Throw DC

The damage of the cannon is equal to per level of the spell slot used. The saving throw DC is equal to 10 + the level of the highest spell slot used. For instance if it's charged by an 8th level spell it will deal damage and the saving throw DC will be 18. If it's charged by two 4th level spells the damage is still , but the saving throw DC is 14.

When you fire the cannon, you can choose one of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison. The cannon’s damage changes to match your choice.
